CLUB MEMBERS LOAN PLAN 2017

Ahane GAA Club have secured Sports Capital Grant funding of €50,000 for the purpose of constructing additional dressing rooms, a full size gym/exercise room and upgrading our existing dressing rooms. We can only draw down this funding on completion of the project and we must complete the project before end of year or our funding will be lost. On completion of the project we will also be in a position to apply for grant assistance from Munster Council in the amount of €20,000. These grants will finance 55% of the total cost of the building project.

There is a reluctance on the part of the committee and membership to increase bank borrowings. We have also explored alternative fundraising events and have not identified any event capable of raising the level of funding required within the time frame allowed and without impacting on the ability of the Club to finance its ongoing operational needs.

In order to secure the funding already awarded and avail of Munster Council funding we are launching a Club Members Loan Plan inviting a minimum of 60 members to advance €1,050 interest free to the Club repayable within 10 years. In return the Club will acknowledge your contribution on a specially commissioned plaque which will be permanently displayed in a prominent position at the Clubhouse. You will also receive a framed certificate of receipt. The launch will take place on Thursday, 7th September at the Clubhouse at 9.30pm.

Each year the Club will hold a draw, confined to the contributors, at our annual general meeting and the members drawn will each be repaid their contribution in the following year. The annual contributors draw will remain in existence until such time as all contributors are repaid. We expect that the repayment period will not exceed 10 years.

We believe that this fund raising initiative is the best available to the Club at this time. We are committed to completing the project within this calendar year and putting a structured plan in place to meet the repayment of contributions within 10 years. To help us achieve these goals we are asking you to give this initiative serious consideration and we encourage you to join with us in supporting this project for the future development of the Club and much needed facilities for our players.

If you wish to be part of this initiative we invite you to come along to our Launch on Thursday, 7th September in the Ahane Clubhouse or make contact with any of the undersigned or committee member. In the meantime thank you for your support, it is greatly valued and always appreciated. Ahane Abú.
