Our U13 Hurlers had their first league game of the season when Bruff were the visitors to Mackey Park during the week. Bruff were quick out of the blocks and settled well in the first half, take some nice scores and go in ahead at the break. The Ahane players rallied well in the second half and putting in a very workmanlike and spirited display really turned things around and the players can be very proud of their strong comeback. Bruff got another goal near the end to settle things and were worthy winners on the evening. With the U13 team having to rely on the U12 and U11 squad to field a team in the league, it was always going to be a big challenge against a physically stronger Bruff team. Well done to the core U13 players of Gavin, Ciaran, John, Colm and Craig who led the U12/U11 players on the night and a big thank you to the U12/U11 players for your great determination and for supporting the U13 Hurling mentors.
