GAA Go Games Provincial Days

The GAA Go Games Provincial Days were launched on Monday 3rd April in GAA Headquarters Croke Park.  Over the course of this week over 4,000 children will get the chance to play on the hallowed turf of Croke Park.

Our U12 hurlers will proudly represent Limerick at the games on Friday 6th April. The boys are very fortunate to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play in the magnificent stadium that is Croke Park. This is without doubt a wonderful and unique occasion and is something every young GAA player dreams of, from the moment a child watches an All-Ireland Final on the television or picks up their first hurl.

The boys will have an action packed day! The excited and eager squad will depart by bus from Mackey Park at 6am arriving at Croke Park by 9.30am. Ahane U12’s will be on the field 10.00am for the first of their three matches. Such a unique trip to Croke Park wouldn’t be complete without the boys experiencing the GAA Museum. The boys will truly be immersed in the spine-tingling and unique story of Gaelic games from ancient times to the present day. The museum not only celebrates the history of Ireland’s national games, it also vividly brings to life how the GAA has contributed to our cultural, social and sporting heritage.  Featured exhibitions at the museum include the original Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy Cups, the rousing Hall of Fame, and a whole floor dedicated to the games as they are today.

After a busy day at headquarters the Ahane troop will be homeward bound for 1pm and no trip home from Dublin would be complete without a stop off at the Barack Obama Plaza for some well-deserved refreshments!
