A night of music, song and chat with Castleconnell native Anne Mulqueen will take place at Ahane GAA Clubhouse on Saturday 28th April at 9pm.

Born in Castleconnell, Anne learned her earliest songs from her grandmother, Clare woman Bridget Mulqueen. In 1959, when Seamus Ennis was one of the judges, she won the All-Ireland ballad singing competition, a title she would regain 1960 and ’61.

At the age of 15, Ann was already singing with the Gallowglass Céilí Band and later sang occassionally with The Dubliners as well as performing at concerts with Willie Clancy and Connemara sean-nós singer Seán 'ac Dhonncha, among others. She was also a regular performer on Comhaltas tours to Britain and the USA.

Everyone is welcome to attend what is sure to be a great evenings entertainment!
