The Ahane Senior Camogie team played their second game of the county championship against Cappamore this evening in Mackey Park Ahane. Cappamore opened the scoring with a point in the 4th minute but Ahane took hold of the game from there on. Goals in the first half came from Niamh Mulcahy, Noreen Flanagan, Orla Curtin, and Roisin O’Mara. Niamh pointed from frees and play, along with points from Orla, Noreen, Judith Mulcahy, and Aisling Herbert, Ahane went in at half time 4-10 to 0-01 up.

There were some great passes and passages of play from Ahane that led to great scores. Ahane came out in the second half and hit the ground running with goals coming from Aine Reynolds who scored two goals and a point, and Natalie Heffernan who scored a goal. Niamh tacked on a few more points from both frees and from play. Cappamore scored two points in the second half, meaning the game ended in a 7-15 to 0-03 point victory for Ahane.

Ahane are out again on the 1st September against Killeedy in Killeedy. Please make every effort to come out and support the girls in their next game!
