Ahane and Granagh/Ballingarry traveled to Old Christians GAA to play the O'Sullivan Fabrications Senior Camogie County Semi Final on Sunday afternoon. After two days of rain the pitch was heavy and both teams battled hard throughout the sixty minutes with Ahane coming out on top at the full time whistle.

The first half saw Ahane's Niamh Mulcahy and Granagh/Ballingarry's Rebecca Noonan trade points from frees to get their sides off the mark. Shauna D'Arcy popped over her first score of the game in the fifth minute after receiving the ball from her team mates in midfield. Ahane played some fantastic interlinking play and running off the ball that saw them create space around the field. Both teams hooked, hassled, and chased every ball and on many an occasion referree Philip Dee had to throw the ball in to get the game moving again. Ahane's points in the first half came from Niamh Mulcahy, and Shauna D'Arcy who in injury time of the first half got on the end of a move to slot the ball into the back of Lisa Kelly's net. At the other end of the field the Ahane full back line of Sarah Crotty, Rose Collins and Niamh Power kept the Granagh/Ballingarry full forward line out with great blocks and constant pressure. Granagh/Ballingarry's scores came from Rebecca Noonan and Kristy Carroll. The teams went in on a scoreline of Ahane 1-08 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-04.

Ahane had the wind in the second half but Granagh/Ballingarry were the first ones to score with a free coming from Rebecca Noonan. Again Ahane's defensive play was top notch with Aisling Herbert, Norreen Flanagan, and Kate Herbert putting in huge effort and work rate throughout the sixty minutes in the half back line. Niamh popped over two more points to widen the gap once more. Susie McGovern got a stunning point in the sixth minute of the second half which saw the teams stand at Ahane 1-11 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-06. Rebecca Noonan kept the Granagh/Ballingarry scores ticking over but in the twelfth minute of the second half Niamh Mulcahy took a free from out the field and it dipped under the Granagh/Ballingarry crossbar and into the net to put it at Ahane 2-11 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-08. Shauna D'Arcy added to her tally of the day with another point in the thirteenth minute of the half. Ahane started to really get on top with points from Áine Reynolds and Niamh Mulcahy. The game was not without its drama though as with thirty one minutes gone in the second half Granagh/Ballingarry got a free close to goal and Rebecca Noonan slotted it into Aoife Quinns net, this brought the gap back to nine points. Not a minute later and Granagh/Ballingarry got another free close to goal and Rebecca held her nerve and popped it into the back of the Ahane net, bringing the gap to six points. Unfortunately for Granagh/Ballingarry it was too little too late as Phil Dee blew the final whistle from the puckout.
