On behalf of the club we send our sincere condolences to the Mackey family on the sad passing of Greg.

Before anything else Greg was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and all our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Bernie, children Karen, Anne, Tara, Mike & Eilise and his grandchildren.

Greg is the son of the late great Mick Mackey and Greg and his wife Bernie have been a constant support to our club. It was an honour to have Greg and the Mackey family join us at our homecoming in October where we brought home the Mick Mackey and the Liam McCarthy Cup. Greg was immensely proud of his children, and his grandchildren and this was evident every time he spoke of them. Greg’s loss will be felt deeply not just in our club but in our community as a whole.

The Mackey Family have been involved with the club from the very earliest of times and we are so grateful for all they have done and in support of the club.

All of Greg’s family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.
