Senior Hurling : Our Senior hurlers played a very useful challenge against a very good Bruree team on Tuesday 15th August in Mackey Park and it turned out to be a very entertaining and tough encounter.  Training continued Thursday of last week and there is a challenge match arranged for Monday 21st August against Clonlara in Clonlara.  The SHC Round 5 tie against South Liberties has been confirmed for Sunday 27th August in Caherconlish with a throw in time of 6.45pm. Thanks to "Munster Tree Surgeons" for their continued sponsorship.

 

Minor Hurling : Our Minor Hurlers continued training on Thursday and Sunday this week.  The final Premier Minor match against Adare has now been rescheduled for Tuesday 29th of August in Mackey Park with a throw in of 7.00pm.  We look forward to our Minors finishing the season on a high with a positive result against Adare and as ever all support on the evening will be very much appreciated.

Scór: Luimneach 2–23 Gaillimh 2–19.  Beidh foireann sinsir Atháin ag imirt sa chluiche deireanach den grúpa an deireadh seachtaine seo chugainn. Atháin v Saor Theas i gCathair Chinn Lis Dé Domhnaigh 27ú Lúnasa ag 6.45 in. Caithfidh Atháin bua maith a fháil agus bheith ag súil go rachaidh torthaí eile ar son Atháin freisin. Go néirí leo !

 

U12 : The U12 Hurlers have an away league match in Newcastlewest on Thursday evening  24th August.   

 

Limerick U21 Hurlers : Congratulations to Tom Morrissey on captaining the Limerick U21 Hurlers to a tremendous win over Galway in a very tight and entertaining match in Thurles on Saturday evening last on a scoreline of 2-23 to 2-19. The win puts them into the All Ireland U21 Final against Kilkenny on September 9th in Thurles.  We wish Tom and all the Limerick squad and management team the very best of luck in the Final - this is a huge achievement for Tom, his family, his Club and his County.

 

Well Done : Congratulations to one of our young Bord na nÓg players Aidan Donnelly who won the U8 60m athletics competition at the National Community Games Finals in Dublin last weekend.  Well done Aidan and it was a fantastic result for proud parents Rosie and Ollie (one of our underage mentors) and all of us in Ahane GAA to hear about.
