The U14 Hurlers ended their long and busy season when they took part in the Division 2 Plate Final on Friday evening last. Having overcome Patrickswell to reach the final, the Ahane players took to the field in Kilteely to face a formidable Garryspillane team who had reached the final after a strong display against Kilpeacon.

The Ahane team put in a sterling effort in the first half and took some great scores to go in at half time very much in the match but the stronger Garryspillane outfit turned in a superb performance in the second half to take a fully deserved win.

Well done to the squad on the night - Craig, Stephen, Colm, Jack, Gavin, Donnacha, David, Ciaran, Sean, Danny, John, Darragh, Kieran, Will, Harry and Kyle who were supported by Cathal, James O’M, Tony and Paddy from the U12 group and to Ryan who was injured but travelled to support the team.

Comhghairdeas to Garryspillane GAA on winning the Plate final and thank you to referee Timmy McGrath who officiated a fine game of hurling. The mentors would like to sincerely thank all parents and supporters who travelled to Kilteely to cheer on the Ahane players.
