Ahane U8 Hurlers enjoy a fantastic day out in Mackey Park.

The U8 hurlers welcomed Newtownshandrum from Cork, and our near neighbours Monaleen and Murroe/Boher to Mackey Park on Saturday last for a wonderful morning of hurling. A strong Ahane troop of 26 players enjoyed fantastic games against the visiting teams. The mentors had put in a fantastic effort with the players over the season and the players were fine tuned to pull out all the stops on the day.

The games highlighted a wonderful range of skills with the backs displaying fearless blocks, coupled with tireless running from the midfielders and with the forwards taking some fine point and goal scoring chances. After the games, the players from all the teams retired to the Clubhouse for wonderful food, refreshments and the players got to enjoy good chat and fun and to recollect on the hurling achievements on the field.

A special thanks to the parents and supporters for coming out on Saturday morning to cheer on the boys and to the Newtownshandrum, Monaleen and Murroe/Boher teams for taking part. The U8 mentors would like to acknowledge the wonderful food provided by the parents for all the players and for all the assistance with tea / coffee and refreshments.
