It’s been a busy few days in Ahane Camogie 😅
We won the County Championship for the first time in 42 years on Sunday and celebrated in style! The team started their celebrations at Dalys Cross where they took a picture at Shane Lee’s bench with Shane’s mum Kay who has been a stall-worth of Ahane Camogie for years, we most definitely would not be here without her!
The team then went on a tour of Castleconnell village and of course took a photo with the main man himself Mick Mackey! The girls ended their tour in Herberts Bar, who are our main sponsors, to an applause from their awaiting supporters! On behalf of the club and the team we would like to thank the Herbert family for all they have done for us not only this year but over the last few years! It was an honour to bring home the cup to Blá finally! 🏆
We would also like to thank Donal O’Sullivan, Brian Healy, and Bob Sweeney Car Dismantlers / Autotowing Ltd for their generous sponsorship of the senior team this year!
Before any Final was played, won, or celebrated Turlough Herbert presented the girls with their gear sponsored by the Herbert family for the county final on Friday.
As they say it takes a village to raise a child, well it must definitely takes a village to win a County Championship and we are dosed with luck that our parish is generous enough to help us out 💚💛
On that note, a huge thank you to the many many people who came out to support the girls at the game on Sunday, it was absolutely wonderful to see such a crowd at a women’s sporting event 💪🏻 thanks to all those who met the girls in the village and who came to Herbert’s afterwards it was greatly appreciated! 💚💛
It’s back down to business now for the team as they have a Munster Semi Final against Inniscarra of Cork, in Cork on Sunday October 28th with throw in at 2pm (these details are provisional but once finalized we will have them up on our social media)
