Tony Condon was honoured by the East Board last evening with the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Sports Award with regard to the lifetime of service he has given to Ahane GAA Club.

Tony began his involvement as a player initially at U14 football. He continued his football playing career up to and including U21 level. While Tony also contributed as a hurler at underage level, football was always his main focus as a player.

His organisational abilities then became evident as he became involved at committee level in the club where some of his initial roles included being selector on various teams. Tony increased his involvement at committee level by undertaking maintenance and pitch up-keeping roles. These roles involved a considerable amount of time and effort which may not be evident to regular members. Tony takes great pride in having our clubhouse and pitch facilities in the best possible condition.

Tony always goes about his responsibilities in a quiet and unassuming manner but let there be no doubt that the job will be done very efficiently and to a very high standard - and on time.

Ahane Gaa Club are absolutely thrilled that Tony's contribution is very deservedly being publicly recognised by the East Board this year.
