Ciaran Barry and UL won the Intermediate All-Ireland final against UCD by 2-21 to 1-12 yesterday in the WIT grounds.
UL played against severe wind in the 1st half where UCD pressed hard to try and take advantage of the elements but UL stood solid. The backs, including Ciaran at corner back, were excellent in 1st half which ended even - 1-09 to 0-12. UL indeed had only two scorers in that half through eventual MOM Shane Neville who scored 0-7 and Jack Delaney with 0-5.
In the 2nd half, aided by the strong wind, UL dominated throughout. The defining moment came midway in the 2nd half when they scored 2 quick goals which put the contest beyond doubt, and allow them to run out easy winners 2-21 to 1-12 in the end.
Well done to Ciaran and all involved - great to have another All-Ireland winners medal coming into the club!
