The Ahane U14 Football team travelled to Ballybrown GAA Club last weekend to take part in the Feile Peil competition. There was a fantastic effort put in by each and every one of the 20 players who did themselves and Ahane proud on the day with a spirited team effort and lovely brand of football that was played. The team had good wins over Kilpeacon and Killacolla Gaels and were unlucky to go under against a fine Ballybrown outfit by 5 points with Ballybrown going on to top the group and qualify for the semi-final of the competition. The U14 Football mentors would like to thank Sean and Jack from the U12 squad for supporting the U14 group on the day and compliment all players on their behaviour both on and off the field. A special THANK YOU to those who supported the team in Ballybrown and all who made sandwiches, brought fruit, water, provided and cooked hot food for the players and supporters and everyone who helped with Feile arrangements - another great team effort off the field!!!! We look forward to the start of the football league ahead over the coming months. Ahane GAA Club would like to acknowledge the massive effort of Ballybrown GAA for hosting all teams and we thank them and Limerick GAA for a very well-run competition on Saturday last. We wish Ballybrown all the best in the next stage of Feile Peil. Next up for the U14 group is an exciting time for the hurlers who start their Feile Iomaint on Saturday 13th April.
