The U17 footballers kicked off their league campaign with a thrilling draw against Adare on the 30th June in Mackey Park.

On a very warm evening and with the pitch in a fabulous condition, both teams playing an open style of football and treated everyone to a cracking game of end to end action.

The game finished 3-7 to 3-7 and could have gone either way. Well done to all the U16/17 players for a fantastic effort. The team was missing a few players due to injuries and other commitments last night but all the panel played their part in a memorable match.

The mentors would like to record their appreciation to all who helped out with car parking, first aid, umpires and to parents & friends who roared on and encouraged the team from the sidelines.
