Ahane travelled to Granagh Ballingarry to take them on in the League Semi Final. In a tough battle between both sides, Ahane managed to come away with a two-point win. Both sides got some really good scores throughout the game with both free takers having a great games. Noreen Flanagan got Ahane off the mark with a point, which was responded to quickly by Granagh/Ballingarry. Niamh Brennan then got her name on the score sheet for Ahane but again Granagh/Ballingarry got a point in response. There was great team play and inter linking play throughout the game for Ahane. More points from Noreen and Niamh put Ahane three points ahead before Noreen got Ahane’s first goal. Aine Reynolds got the final score before the water break, and it was Ahane 1-06 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-02. The second quarter was a serious battle with a lot of dirty ball being won around the middle of the field. Rebecca Noonan got scores from frees and play to keep Granagh/Ballingarry's scores ticking over. Half time the score was Ahane 1-08 Granagh/Ballingarry 0-05.
The second half got underway with Aine Reynolds getting a point from a free before Rebecca Noonan got a goal for Granagh/Ballingarry after Audrey saved the ball from the initial shot. Ahane responded well as Aine got another point and then for the second time in the game Noreen Flanagan got on the end of a passage of play and slotted the ball into the back of the net. Granagh/Ballingarry kept plugging away and the scores stood as Ahane 2-11 Granagh/Ballingarry 1-09 at the second water break. The final fifteen-minute minutes were tense as both teams did everything, they could to try keep possession of the ball and secure the win. Granagh/Ballingarry got four points and closed the gap but a point from Aine Reynolds did enough to cement the win for Ahane. Full time Ahane 2-12 Granagh/Ballingarry 1-13.
