On a glorious sunny afternoon Ahane hosted Claughaun, South Liberties Crecora Mainister & Adare in Mackey Park for the group 4 first round of under 15 Gaelic Football Feile.

Observing a minutes silence for Padraic Kearney of Adare whose son Patrick was playing yesterday reminded us of the importance of community, support, family and friendship for all the boys.

Ahane’s first game was against Claughaun. We put in a strong performance to take the win against a team that never gave up. After a short break we faced South Liberties Crecora Mainistir. Ahane didn’t get off to a good start & credit to our opposition for outplaying us in the first half. We battled hard in the second half but it wasn’t our day.

We had great support on the sidelines as always with our 15s hurlers, parents & friends coming to cheer our boys on & creating an enjoyable atmosphere in Mackey Park. Many thanks to our coaches for all the hard work put in with the team and to all the parents who helped out with umpiring, Covid, First Aid, car parking and organizing the afternoon.

We wish all the teams an enjoyable Saturday in the finals stages.
