Our Senior team started their 2022 League campaign with an away game to Doon. A great team performance saw the lads come away with a serious win. Scores from Adam Murrihy who is back after a lengthy spell on the side-line due to injury, along with points from Killian Enright, William Brennan, Ronan Fox, and Dan Minehan meant the full time score was Ahane 0-17 Doon 1-10.

Game two had us welcoming Pallasgreen to Mackey Park on a dreary enough Saturday evening. Our first score came from Mark Donnellan, but Pallasgreen managed to get two more points before we got our next point which came from Adam Murrihy. Adam then went on to score the next two frees while Pallasgreen added to their tally, so they remained a point ahead. Pallasgreen continued to find the posts as they put four points between us before Willie Brennan scored a point, and Adam got another one to keep us within touching distance of Pallasgreen. Pallasgreen hit the back of the net five minutes before half time, we responded with a serious score from Padraig Harnett who made the run up the line from wing back. Half time Ahane 0-07 Pallasgreen 1-12. Killian and Evan Enright got the opening three points in the second half before Pallasgreen got a point from a free. Adam got another point, as did Killian and we closed the gap to three points. Pallasgreen were reduced to fourteen men after their wing forward saw a straight red. Killian got another point along with Ronan Fox, but Pallasgreen kept their scores ticking over with points from frees. Our goal eventually came after several attempts throughout the half as Padraig made the run from wing back and got on the end of a great series of passes that started with Johnny in goal. Padraig made no mistake in rattling the back of the net. We got a point from a free and the gap was down to one but unfortunately it was too little too late as the referee blew the whistle and the final score was Ahane 1-17 Pallasgreen 1-18
