Our Junior B team played Fedamore in the opening round of the Junior B League. They played against a strong wind in the first half and did well to come away with six points. Fedamore took advantage of the wind and scored 1-08. The second half got underway, and our lads fought hard, but Fedamore started to pull away and got scores a little easier than us. The full-time score was Ahane 0-11 Fedamore 3-13.

We travelled to Ballybricken to play Ballybricken Bohermore on a seriously windy Sunday evening. We played with the wind in the first half and made very good use of it as we got points from GearĂłid Hayes, Alan Doherty, Colm Haugh, and John Doheny. Ballybricken Bohermore got some lovely scores themselves and they dealt us a killer blow coming up to half time as they got a goal. Half time Ahane 0-07 Ballybricken Bohermore 1-05. Despite our best efforts we failed to score in the second half as the wind picked up and Ballybricken Bohermore started to run away with the game. The lads put in a huge effort, but Ballybricken were just too strong in the second half. Full time score Ahane 0-07 Ballybricken Bohermore 3-15.

Thursday 14th April saw us travel to Caherconlish to play Caherline in third round of the Junior B League. We started with two points from Ronan Reale and a point from Tristian O’Sullivan from centre back. Caherline got two points of their own, before Seanie O’Connor got a serious score from inside our 45-metre line. Colm Haugh added to our points as did Alan Doherty. Caherline got a point from a 45 after some great defending from our lads. Seanie got another beauty of a point, and we were four points ahead. Tom Doheny showed us all that it’s not just forwards who score as he got a monster of a point from wing back. Com Slattery Wright, who had a great game, played a wonderful pass to Tom and Tom slotted it over from out near the far side-line. Dara Cullimore scored a point before Caherline got one of their own and twenty-three minutes in the scores were Ahane 0-10 Caherline 0-04. Seanie, Tom and Ronan each got a point, with Caherline getting three points of their own in-between. Half time score Ahane 0-13 Caherline 0-07. Caherline got the first score of the second half and their keeper made a serious save from Alan Doherty’s shot. Tom popped over the 65’ from the saved Alan Doherty shot. Caherline got two points in quick succession before Seanie got another fantastic point. Caherline went on to score 1-06 on the bounce as we began to tire with ten minutes to go in the second half. We got the final score from a Seanie O’Connor point. Full time Ahane 0-16 Caherline 1-19.
