The u9 hurlers brought their season to a close with great performances at the Go Games in Thurles on Saturday the 15th October, organised by Munster GAA.
There was great excitement as we departed Ahane on the bus. This will definitely be a trip the kids will remember…on arrival in Dr Morris Park and after heading to our pitch we had lashing rain, thunder and lightning and finally, hailstones! Eventually, and after the coaches managed to keep the kids dry in a dug out, there was a break in the weather and the hurling started.
We fielded two teams and played matches against teams from De La Salle, Kiltha Óg and Clonakenny. Great skills and teamwork on show from Ahane. The kids really enjoyed the competative games and it was great to see enthusiastic supporters from home there to cheer on the teams.
We finished off with a trip to supermacs and back home on the bus. Well done to the kids on a super season and many thanks to the coaches for all their hard work all year and for organising a fantastic day out on Saturday. Thanks too to the parents for their support all year. Photos on our Facebook page.
